Hyderabad: The notification for The Common Admission Test- CAT for Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and some other top B-schools in the country has been issued today. The CAT 2010 test will be held between October 27 and November 24 a total of 20 different days in a span of 28-days.
CAT is conducted by IIMs as pre-requisite for admission to various management programs of IIMs. IIMs offering Post Graduate Programmes in Management- PGP and Fellow Programmes in Management –FPM, which is equivalent to Ph.D.
Based on the test score, students can join in IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Ranchi, Rohtak and Shillong. Some of the top business schools in the country also accepts CAT score as a eligibility for the admission in to their institutions.
This year’s computer-aided tests will be held in 78 test sites across 33 cities.
CAT 2009 drew a lot of criticism, since it was interrupted by technical glitches that included virus attacks and systems crashes across test centers.
Registration: On purchasing of CAT 2010 vouchers at select Axis Bank branches, students must logon to www.catiim.in to register for the test. Registration window will be opens on Monday, 30th August 2010 and will close on Thursday 30th September.
Cost of CAT 2010 Vochers: The price of the forms will be Rs 1,400/- for general category and Rs 700/- for SC/STs, and the CAT 2010 vouchers will be available at Axis Bank branches.
