Hyderabad, September 5: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) and the George Institute for Global Health signed an MoU for collaborative participation in research and training including supervision of research degree students in relevant disciplines. UoH and The George Institute will facilitate training of students from a broad academic background with interests in public health or clinical research, including but not restricted to: medical sciences, nursing, life sciences, social sciences, management, communications, law and ethics and policy. The Schools of Medical Sciences, Management Studies, Centre for Health Psychology, Centre for Regional Studies etc., will be collaborating with The George Institute initially in all the above activities.
The other areas of collaboration include Development of collaborative research projects and publications, Involvement in joint workshops, symposia, and seminars and Development of networks with collaborating partners.
The George Institute for Global health, was formally established in Hyderabad, India, in 2007. The Institute is part of a global organization with other offices located in Sydney (affiliated with the University of Sydney), Beijing (affiliated with Peking University Health Science Centre) and Oxford (affiliated with the University of Oxford). The George Institute for Global Health is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to identify solutions to major health problems, globally and in India through research, translation of research findings into policy and practice, and capacity building.
