Hyderabad, August 13, 2011: University of Hyderabad earlier known as Hyderabad Central University – UoH featured among India’s Best Universities as per a survey conducted by the India Today-Nielsen for the year 2011. UoH is ranked 6 for the year 2011 as compared to rank 7 in the year 2010.
A total of 45 Universities in the country have been ranked based on perpetual and factual scores. These Universities were ranked on the parameters relating to reputation, quality of academic input, faculty, research publications, infrastructure and placement opportunities. The perpetual and factual components were given weightages of 40% and 60% respectively. The overall scores were then indexed to 100. The final number determined the rank of the Universities.
The Delhi University was ranked 1 followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University at rank 2, Banaras Hindu University at rank 3, University of Calcutta at rank 4, University of Madras at rank 5, University of Hyderabad at rank 6, Osmania University at rank 7, Jamia Millia Islamia at rank 8, Bangalore University at rank 9 and M S University, Baroda at rank 10.
