Hyderabad: First time in Indian space research history, aeronautical engineering students from select private engineering colleges played a key role in launching the remote sensing satellite Cartosat 2B successfully on Monday from Satish Dhawan space centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
At least seven students participated in the launching program. Along with Carosat 2B, satellite launch vehicle PSLV also launched four small satellites today. Institute of Aeronautical Engineering is one among the colleges, that participated in this milestone event.
