COMED-K Counseling from today | Karnataka Private Colleges Medical, Engineering Admissions begins
Bengaluru, July 2: The much awaited COMED-K counseling has begin from today. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka is a body to oversee private undergraduate professional admissions in constituent colleges in Karnataka.
The regular admission in to professional courses in Karnataka will be done through KCET conducted by the government via Karnataka Examinations Authority-KEA. The first round of COMED-K counseling for medical seats will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to sources in the consortium.
While COMED-K has already started admission process, KEA not yet geared up for the same. This is the first time, private colleges are moving much ahead of government admission process in the state.
The state government has consulted the COMED-K to differ the counseling, but the consortium in no mood to think about it. The counseling will be done through online method. Karnataka is one of the preferred destinations in South India for professional college admissions, mainly medical and engineering. After so much of struggle, private colleges have formed in to a consortium under COMED-K banner and conducting test and admission as directed by the Supreme court.
