Shriram-APLOA Education Scholarship for truck-drivers’ children | Shriram Foundation Scholarships
Vijayawada, September 1: Shriram Foundation, a corporate social responsibility arm of Shriram Group has announced Shriram-APLOA Education Scholarship for truck-drivers’ children. This is aimed to provide the needy children of truck drivers and transporters with educational assistance. The nationwide scholarship program was launched a Vijayawada today. Andhra Pradesh Lorry Owners Association (APLOA) is the partner for this program. K. Pardha Saradhi, Minister for Secondary Education, Govt.
of Andhra Pradesh launched the program as chief guest.
Through this Shriram-APLOA Education Scholarship, Shriram Foundation will offer financial assistance and scholarships to 195 deserving children of transporters and truck
drivers aged between 11 and 17 years. The scholarship distribution ceremony took place at the Krishna District Lorry Owners Association Hall in Vijayawada. This initiative has been successfully implemented at Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore and Namakkal earlier.
Shriram-APLOA Education Scholarship support is applicable for the children of any school (including government and private) towards expenses for pursuing school education without any disruption.
Shriram Foundation performs various activities such as primary education for children, vocational training centres for women, higher education & skill based courses through Shriram IGNOU Community College, micro financing for rural women and more across the country as part of its CSR activity.
