Picasso Animation College Launches ‘Picasso Alumni Community’

PICASSO ANIMATION COLLEGE ORGANISES ITS FIRST CONVOCATION IN THE CITY
Hyderabad : PICASSO ANIMATION COLLEGE – a part of the Maharishi Group, an MNC with operations in 120 countries hosted ‘PICASSO CONVOCATION 2010’, the first Convocation ceremony to be hosted in Hyderabad. 124 young and bright students of Picasso Animation College from four centers in the city – Begumpet, Kukatpally, Hitech City & Dilsukhnagar received their passing out certificate form Prof. Group Captain O. P. Sharma, Director General, Picasso Animation College; Mr. Mohit Shah, Director, Picasso Animation College & Chairman Convocation committee and Mr. Ian Peaker, International Faculty, Centennial College, Canada. Prof. Sharma also inaugurated the Picasso Alumni Community on the occasion.

Picasso Animation College was set up with the vision to bring global standards in animation industry to India. Picasso has tied up with Centennial College, Canada – an internationally renowned college for animation, to ensure global standards in its curriculum and to provide high caliber animation professional to studios handling international projects.. Picasso has state of the art facilities including Digital Studio, Art and Sculpture studio and Special Effects Studio, Multimedia lab with audio visual aids and projection equipment. Picasso Studios develop original IP content for deployment. Picasso has to its credit projects such as gags for commonwealth games, disco dance video and Kelvin & Hobs comic strips and has now started working on full length animation feature films for theater release. Students of Picasso have the unique advantage of working on few shots of the animation features produced by Picasso Studios. The students of Picasso are in great demand from Companies with international co-production contracts like Rhythm & Hues, Mumbai; Crest Animation Studios, Mumbai and DQ Entertainment, Hyderabad.

The Academic team of Picasso consists of Hollywood experts from gaming, animation, entertainment, fine arts and education industry and includes Philip Edward Alexy, lead animator for Disney’s Flubber & 3D department head at GVFX; Prof. Johannes Kerschbaum, a visual effects & character animation specialist has worked on projects like Das Blut der Templer, Modigliani and Seven Servants; Ian Peaker, a 3D Visualization expert has worked on gaming projects like Sensible Soccer 2000, Lego Island 1 & 2, Tiger Woods 2009 etc.; Dirk Pries, a 3D Animation specialist has worked for films like Carzy Race 2, Ben and Bellas World of language etc.
