ISEET | States OK to HRD proposal for Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test

New Delhi, February 22: The Education Minister’s of various states today tentatively given their nod to Human Resource Ministry proposal to conduct Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test -ISEET across the country from 2013. If the proposal gets the final nod, entrance tests like IIT-JEE, AIEEE and EAMCET will be abolished and students need to write only one test – ISEET.

According to the Minister of State, Human Resource Development, D. Purandeswari, all most all state governments accepted the single entrance proposal. HRD ministry has conducted a meeting of education ministers in Delhi today to discuss various issues related to brining out major reforms in higher education sector in the country.

Currently, after 10+2 or Intermediate, students are appearing at least 5-10 entrance test to get in to under graduation level courses like B.E and B.Tech. Once, ISEET introduced, all these test will be disappeared and students may get relieved from un necessary burden of entrance tests.

    It is better to look at the positive aspects of the ISEET proposed. ISEET should be conducted from 2013 onwords. The Weightage of Class 12 Board examinations will be only for group marks or group and languages together.
