Hyderabad: A Honeywell- sponsored laboratory focused on advanced process controls and automation design was inaugurated at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, today by M.M. Pallam Raju, Minister of State for Defense, Government of India.
The state-of-the art lab sponsored by Honeywell will enable students from multiple disciplines at both graduation and post graduation levels to learn on the latest process technologies from Honeywell. This will enable students to build contemporary skills and competencies to make them industry ready and will equip them better for employment opportunity in the classified Petroleum Chemical Petrochem Investment Region (PCPIR). The PCPIR is a 250 square kilometers area that is earmarked for setting up of manufacturing facilities for petroleum, chemical & petrochemicals along with the associated services and infrastructure. There are already a number of companies operating in the region.
This new lab demonstrates Honeywell’s commitment to constantly work with academic institutions to innovate in research, and to widen the talent pool in India. This facility will also enable the University to undertake important research for the industry
Praising the efforts of Honeywell Prof. Allam Appa Rao, Vice – Chancellor, JNTU said “I see this as the beginning of a worthy partnership to raise the standards in research at the very basic level, instilling in our students the passion to strive for quality of the highest level.”
