Green Gold animation to open training facility in Kolkata this year, to train 90 in Hyderabad

Hyderabad : Green Gold Animation Pvt Ltd, emerging player in animation training and content production plans to start its third center in Kolkata this year, Rajiv Chilaka, Founder told today.
The West Bengal Government has allotted 5,000 sq.ft area for the academy and  by the end of June, the Kolkata academy start operations.
“We are not in hurry with numbers. This year we train 90 students with world class standards and we will also absorb them in our studio. Going forward, our plan is to open one center every year mainly in tier -2 cities. Some of them in Andhra Pradesh also,” he said.

Green Gold Animation Hyderabad Academy

Green Gold Animation today launched its second academy in Hyderabad. It’s first academy was in Warangal.
Green Gold Academy is offering 2 courses; one is three months industry orientation program, which is designed exclusively for in service employees.  The second program is one year full time course.
Each batch at the academy would comprise of 30 students and the training classes commence in the second week of April 2010.
For the full time course, academy will offer 4 days class room program and one day practices, which includes training in 2D animation and 3D animation.
As per the current demand, Animation industry is offering starting salary of 10,000 rupees for right candidate and the salary for the highly creative directors and programmers is no limit. Even though there is no exact numbers available on animation demand experts, the industry was facing shortage of expert designers. The persons who are familiar with drawing skills, who can play with colors and knows to use graphic applications better can opt the animation as their career.
Green Gold Animation is the creator of animation content of Krishna and Balram and Chota Bheem, which were being aired on Cartoon Network and Pogo respectively.
“According to the NASSCOM estimates, the animation industry needs around 1,00,000 animators by the end of 2012. We absorbed around half of the 60 students trained by us in our first academy started in Warangal,” said Rajiv Chilaka, Founder and MD, Green Gold Animation Pvt. Ltd., at a press conference here.
The fee for the courses offered by the company would be Rs 99,000 for the one-year diploma programme, while the three-month specialized courses cost Rs 35,000.
“We will start merchandising our products with our own distribution network shortly and hope to increase the share of our license and merchandising revenue from 10 per cent to 80 per cent. Being a two million dollar company, we are growing at 100 per cent. Though not looking at getting equity now, we plan to go to IPO in the next five years,” Mr Chilaka said.
The company would produce a 90-minute theatrical version of Chota Bheem, according to Mr Chilaka.
The company which forayed into comics in 2008 has so far produced 20 volumes of Chota Bheem and printed two lakh copies of it.
