Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh is likely to witness over capacity for engineering colleges this year, as AICTE is expected to sanction 22 new colleges and 3 integrated engineering college campuses for the academic year 2010-11. The state currently has 657 engineering colleges with a seats capacity of 2.25 lakhs. The state government is expecting official communication to this effect by 30th. With the new addition, the total engineering colleges in the state would go up to 682, the highest ever in any state and seats capacity my touch 2.40 lakhs. This additional seats and new colleges may facilitate almost all the students, who were qualified in EAMCET 2010 test.
