Hyderabad, August 26: After series of meetings and controversies, The Andhra Pradesh Government has finally issued a Government Order – GO on Engineering Colleges Fee Structure for 2012-13. This is line with the affidavits submitted by the managements of various engineering colleges in the state. Interestingly, at least 67 colleges, out of 700+ in the state, which are reputed in terms of academic excellence, good faculty, infrastructure and management permitted to charge much higher fee for convener quota seats.
For Example, CBIT Hyderabad allowed to charge 1.05 lakh per year for convener quota seat, almost equivalent to earlier management quota fee structure. For these 67 colleges, convener quota seat fee is not uniform, but college to college it changes. For other colleges in listed in the GO will charge Rs.35,000/- for convener quota seat. For the students, who can avail the fee re-imbursement facility, government will pay only Rs.35,000 to any college, though they were allowed to charge higher in some cases. The latest GO issued by the AP Government is applies for Agriculture, Pharma D and Planning courses too with different fee structure to each course. The GO was issued after due consultation with the managements by AFRC
