CAT by Prometric started with no major issues on first day

Hyderabad, October 22: The Common Admission Test (CAT), the mandatory test for admission in to the 13 top Institute of Management – IIMs started today without any major issues. CAT is online test and last year, students faced many technical hitches. This year CAT will be held over a 28 day period till November 18, 2011.
Today, Prometric has confirmed that 5,690 candidates registered for the CAT today and both sessions have concluded with no major issues reported.
“Candidates are reminded to check their test centre information and travel plans, and arrive at least one-and-a-half hours before their scheduled test time with their Admit Card and valid photo identification.
The UID card has now been added to the list of approved photo identification types that is available on the CAT website. Candidates are also advised to check their emails and the CAT website regularly in case of any important updates from Prometric.”
This year’s CAT will be delivered in 68 test centres across 36 cities. Two of these centres are Prometric’s newly opened state-of-the-art testing facilities in Gurgaon and Hyderabad, which are used throughout the rest of the year for the delivery of exams that Prometric administers on behalf of its global clients.
There are no scheduled tests tomorrow, and testing will resume on Monday, 24 October.
MLR Institute of Technology, Dundigal and Prometric Testing Private Limited, Banjara Hills were the test centers in Hyderabad.
At least 3.05 lakh students are attending CAT for 3,000 seats in 13 IIMs across the country. CAT score also accepted as qualifying rank for many other private management institutes in the country.
