CAT 2010 | CAT 2010 Notification Common Admission Test 2010 for Indian Institute of Management IIMs

Hyderabad: The notification for The Common Admission Test- CAT for Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and some other top B-schools in the country has been issued today. The CAT 2010 test will be held between October 27 and November 24 a total of 20 different days in a span of 28-days.

CAT is conducted by IIMs as pre-requisite for admission to various management programs of IIMs. IIMs offering Post Graduate Programmes in Management- PGP and Fellow Programmes in Management –FPM, which is equivalent to Ph.D.
Based on the test score, students can join in IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Ranchi, Rohtak and Shillong. Some of the top business schools in the country also accepts CAT score as a eligibility for the admission in to their institutions.
This year’s computer-aided tests will be held in 78 test sites across 33 cities.
CAT 2009 drew a lot of criticism, since it was interrupted by technical glitches that included virus attacks and systems crashes across test centers.

Registration: On purchasing of CAT 2010 vouchers at select Axis Bank branches, students must logon to www.catiim.in to register for the test. Registration window will be opens on Monday, 30^th August 2010 and will close on Thursday 30^th September.

Cost of CAT 2010 Vochers: The price of the forms will be Rs 1,400/- for general category and Rs 700/- for SC/STs, and the CAT 2010 vouchers will be available at Axis Bank branches.

Karnataka PGCET Cell MBA, MCA, M.E., M.Tech, M.Arch counseling notification

Hyderabad: PGCET cell, the body which monitors PG admissions for professional courses in Karnataka has issued notification for admissions in to MBA, MCA, M.E., M.Tech, M.Arch for rank holders. The PGCET Cell has been published the merit list for the courses on its website www.vtu.ac.in and http://pgcet.vtu.ac.in on 19^th August 2010.
The cell has issued a notification in Eeenadu Telugu News papar dt. 21^st August 2010 for the benefit Andhra Pradesh candidates. Students can check for the counseling schedule and certificates verification schedule in the notification. Students can also check the details at above said websites.
The counseling will begin from 23^rd August and will continue till 14^th September for various courses and rank holders.

Education Scholarships | NCERT National Talent Search Scheme 2011

Hyderabad: National Council for Education Research and Training invited applications from meritorious students for National Talent Search Scheme 2011 scholarship program. Students who gets better score in this test will get scholarship for further education, till PhD in basic sciences, social sciences, commerce etc.
The test will be on All India basis and 1,000 students will be selected for this talent search scholarship.

Eligibility: Students who are currently studying 8th standard are eligible for the test.
Test: The National Talent Search Scheme 2011 test will be in two phases. In the first phase, that is at state level will cover mental ability and scholastic aptitude. Those who qualifies in the first phase will be allowed to go for 2nd level test, that will be conducted at national level. After two phases, students have to appear for a final interview.
Applications: students can download the application for the test at NCERT website.
The Examination fee is Rs.100/- (Rupees Hundred only) per candidate. The examination fee has to be paid in form of Demand Draft through SBH/SBI in favour of THE SECRETARY TO THE COMMISSIONER FOR GOVERNMENT EXAMINATIONS. AP. Hyderabad.
