Contd.... He said that the IIT people did not want to measure the knowledge of the students but their skills. Hence, the entrance test for admission in to the institution was conducted on the lines of the IIT-JEE. When asked why the institution was not providing coaching to the EAMCET students, he elaborately explained the reasons. He said that preparation for the EAMCET was entirely different from preparation forthe IIT. The objective of the EAMCET was fastness but skills were important for the IIT. |

The IIT student has conceptual knowledge where as the EAMCET one lacked it, he said adding that a student having conceptual knowledge could finish a problem within four or five steps. But, a student who prepares for the EAMCET solves the same problem in 20 steps. Generally the IIT question paper was flexible and hence it did not dissatisfy any student. But the llT examiners saw the theoretical background of the student but not the mere solution to the question, where many students failed, he said. Ramaiah said "initially for two years we gave coaching for the EAMCET along with the IIT on the same campus. But. found that EAMCET results were not encouraging hence stopped giving coaching". On free coaching to the students, he said that every year not less than 10 SC students were given free coaching. But. the result in them was not encouraging till two years ago. Ramaiah has a feeling of remorse for not able to providing the coaching for the poor. If government can move on this lines, he is ready to help to such an effort. Lets hope in the era of internet, The best guidance of a best GURU will reach every corner of the world. |
